University lessons that load on a 3G afternoon
Lattice began in 2018 with education. Ahoon Studies gives university students video lessons and practice quizzes they can reach from a phone — on the connection they actually have, not the one a demo assumes.

Students needed lecture material outside contact hours, but streaming video to a mobile phone on an intermittent connection is the one thing most learning platforms are worst at. Anything that assumed steady bandwidth was unusable by the afternoon.
We built for the worst connection first: aggressive media strategy, tolerant playback, and a quiz engine that works even when the video does not. Then we made sure it scaled to thousands of concurrent students.
The platform is in use by university students in Ethiopia and has scaled well past its first cohort. It is also the engagement that set how we treat bandwidth as a product constraint on every build since.
